At the first instance, the extant English translations of all the forty one classical texts will be evaluated and edited by expert committees. Depending upon the number of translations available two or three versions will be considered for selection. If a prose version is available, it will be preferred. A critical introduction for each compilation will be included.
In course of time, a fresh translation of each of the forty one Classical Tamil texts will be undertaken with the involvement of a native Tamil scholar, a translator and a native scholar of English.
Translation of Classical Tamil texts into Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and other Indian languages will also be gradually undertaken.
